If the children are not well, none of us are truly well
The phrase "And how are the children?" originates from a greeting used by the Maasai people of Kenya, one of the most respected warrior cultures in Africa. In this tradition, the health and safety of the community is measured by the well-being of its youngest members. The customary response, “All the children are well”, reflects- life is in balance, the village is strong, and the people are living in alignment with their responsibilities to one another.
In African and Afro-diasporic worldviews, children are sacred. They carry our ancestors’ dreams and embody our future. Their treatment reflects the values, strength, and spiritual health of the entire community. If the children are not well, none of us are truly well.

OUR PUPOSE
To protect Black youth from criminalization, violence, and the “moving” community-to-prison pipeline by building community-based pathways rooted in care and protection.
